The fourth-generation Range Rover has codenamed L405 and constructed on a new platform D4u, which has been developed in collaboration between Tata Motors and Jaguar. The new SUV will have a large aluminum chassis which will reduce weight by 500 pounds and will be 25 mm larger than the third generation. However there will be a long wheelbase version of the Chinese market. On the platform will be built D4u 6 models from Land Rover to cut production costs.
The total weight of the Range Rover will be no greater than 2,000 pounds and mechanical will wear the 4.4-liter V8 diesel engine 320 hp performance which will be combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission with a Start / Stop. The fourth-generation Range Rover will once also a V6 diesel engine but also the kompresorato V8 5.0-liter 510 horsepower performance. Also there is rumors and hybrid version in the future.
Stylistically, it differs significantly from the current form having many influences from the Evoque. It once LED daytime running lights while the interior is more luxurious and equipped with many gadgets.
