Paris 2012:2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4, lighter and more economical

 The new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 combines the performance and efficiency of the current-generation 911 Carrera with the dynamic benefits of the latest version of the active all-wheel drive PTM. Its first public appearance of the new Carrera celebrates with all-wheel drive on the Paris Motor Show 2012.

The new all-wheel-Eleven comes in four variants - 911 Carrera 4 and 911 Carrera 4S, both as a coupe and cabriolet - to market. They bring the same genes as the rear-drive variants: lightweight body and chassis and engine and transmission are the same except for all-wheel-specific changes. For the typical Porsche, rear-biased interpretation of the four-wheel drive guarantees maximum driving dynamics on the different surfaces and in all weather conditions. Despite higher engine performance and consume all four models significantly less fuel than their respective predecessors. In individual cases, the savings adds up to 16 percent. In addition, the new 911 Carrera 4 weighs up to 65 kilograms.




The most striking feature of the penalty with the wide rear wheel drive remains: In comparison to the two-wheel drive 911 Carrera models, the wheel arches of the rear axle by 22 millimeters each pulled out further and wider rear tires to ten millimeters. Also combines the traditional red light strip in a new form, the two taillights.

All new models feature a seven-speed gearbox as standard with a manual transmission, as optional Porsche double-clutch gearbox.
